Privacy policy
This policy covers www.brandmappr.com — the BrandMappr website. The API at api.brandmappr.com and the signed-in console are separate surfaces with their own terms.
What we collect
Three things, and nothing else:
- Page traffic, through Google Analytics — which pages are visited, roughly where in the world from, and which site (if any) linked you here.
- Your email address, but only if you buy a dataset. It is used to send your receipt and download link. You are not signed up to anything by buying.
- The brand names you search for, which are sent to our API to look up whether we hold data for them.
What we never collect
- No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
- No profiling, and no automated decisions about you.
- We never sell visitor data. BrandMappr sells business location data — shop addresses and coordinates. That is a different thing entirely, and nothing about you is part of it.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to measure page traffic. Google acts as our processor for this, and Google Analytics sets its own cookies to recognise a returning browser. Google’s advertising features and ad personalisation are switched off, and IP addresses are anonymised.
In the UK, the EEA and Switzerland, analytics does not run until you accept it. Google’s script is not merely held in a disabled state — it is not requested at all until you choose. If you reject, nothing loads.
Everywhere else, analytics is on by default and you can switch it off at any time using the link below. Turning it off deletes the Google Analytics cookies from your browser, rather than just stopping new measurement.

You can change or withdraw your choice at any time by clearing cookies in your browser.
Who else handles this data
- Google — analytics.
- Stripe — payment processing, if you buy. We never see or store your card details.
- Vercel — hosting. Standard server logs, kept for security and reliability.
Legal basis (UK/EU GDPR)
- Consent — the sole basis for analytics in the UK, EEA and Switzerland. You can withdraw it at any time, and doing so does not affect anything processed before you did.
- Contract — your email address, where you have bought a dataset and we need to deliver it.
- Legitimate interests — keeping the site up and secure.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Email support@brandmappr.comand we will respond within 30 days. You also have the right to complain to your data protection regulator — in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, the date at the top changes with it.
